Storytelling Sessions

These sessions are designed to capture the heart and soul of your family, this won’t be like any other photo session you’ve had before. I won’t be directing you to pose and I don’t use props or flash. These sessions are usually done in your home or outdoors where we can explore freely together. My goal is for you to feel like you just hung out with a good friend who just happened to take some pictures.
I love capturing the in between moments, emotions, and details. I look for how the light falls and anticipate expressions, I pay attention to details whether that means including something in the frame or adjusting my position to leave something out.
I bet you have a shoebox or album full of pictures from when you grew up, or when you parents grew up. I know I do! I love looking through it and the feeling it immediately gives me of traveling back to that time for a moment. Do you have something like that for yourself of your kids now? Odds are you don’t. Most likely you have a phone full of photos, or a computer with an overwhelming amount of photos on it and not many printed out. If you were to print them out, what would you pick? My guess is that it would be the posed pictures, or pictures during a specific event like a wedding or a family vacation.
I want to celebrate this season of your life now. The everyday. The seemingly mundane. This season deserves to be remembered. Whether you are just starting the journey of marriage, exhausted new parents, or empty nesters. You and your children deserve to see what it was like right now. The tears, the joy, the love, the sorrow. All of that is just as important (if not more) as the big events. Let me document this beautiful season of your life, don’t wait for the next big event, trust me you will have plenty of photos of that, instead take the time to memorialize your life as beautiful and amazing as it is right now.
